Let’s talk about what happens after the photoshoot glow fades and the digital gallery hits your inbox. You’ve just received a set of powerful, emotional, maybe even life-shifting images. So the last thing we want is for them to collect virtual dust in some forgotten download folder.
Here’s how to keep your images safe, accessible, and ready to lift you up whenever you need a reminder of who the hell you are.
Your gallery link is live now—but it won’t be there forever. I highly recommend downloading your full-resolution files as soon as possible. It only takes a minute, and trust me, future-you will thank you.
Why it matters: After a certain period (usually 30–90 days), galleries move to archive status. Accessing them later may require a retrieval fee—or they may be gone entirely. Don’t risk it.
Redundancy is your best friend when it comes to preserving your images. Here’s a simple rule of thumb: one local, one external, one cloud.
Local: Save a copy directly on your computer.
External: Transfer the files to an external hard drive or SD card. These are great if you’re low on space or like having a backup offline.
Cloud: Upload your photos to a secure cloud storage service like Google Drive, Dropbox, or iCloud. Easy access, even from your phone.
If tech isn’t your thing, ask a partner or friend to help you. Or email me, alysha@alyshaspencerphotography.com, and I’ll walk you through it.
These aren’t just pretty pictures. They’re proof of your strength. Your softness. Your radiance. Your story. So please—don’t let them sit in a folder that never sees the light of day.
Set a reminder in your phone for six months from now: “Look at my photos today.” You’ll be amazed at how grounding and powerful that little act can be.
Digital files are convenient—but physical prints? They’re soul fuel. If you didn’t purchase artwork with your session, it’s not too late. I offer heirloom albums and fine art prints because I believe these moments deserve more than screen time. Reach out directly if you want to explore your options.
Bottom Line:
Don’t lose your photos to the digital abyss. Download them, back them up, and give them a permanent place in your life—because you’re worth remembering, every damn day.
